How to Place and Order
Everything we do here is custom, from the size of the shade to its decoration. We have laid out the steps here for ordering. We are old fashioned, so pen and paper are a must!
1st: Print out our order form so you can fill in the specifications for your custom shade.
2nd: Measuring instructions for Width and Height… really look at your windows or doors.
3rd: Materials- Yes choices!
4th: Styles more choices…to scallop or not to scallop?
5th: Trims…. To fringe or not to fringe?
Fill out the form, call if you need help, and allow us to make you a truly beautiful shade correctly. The costs of the shade is by width and height in the material grids. The scallop is width based in each grid. Again call if you have questions

Basic Shades
Basic Shades: (Use price grids) Are available with a plain hem and ring pull which is included in the base price. The shade is hand made and the stitching is covered with your choice of gimp.

Pricing
Custom roller shades are priced according to price grids. Calculate costs according to the “Up To” sizes found in the price charts. If the shade size falls between the listed sizes, go “Up To” the next price-size field.
Price out a basic straight hem roller shade by width and height.This includes a crochet ring pull and the stitching is covered with your choice of gimp.
To have a truly beautiful custom shade pick one of the scallop patterns, choose a gimp, and a fringe style.
Add this width based cost to the cost of the basic shade.

Four Star Cotton:
100% Cotton fabric, with a fire retardant coating, color fast, offered in white, natural, tan, black, hunter green, eggshell, khaki, and gray.
Glass Lightban:
This is a three ply, fire retardant, room darkening, washable material. Offered in White, Eggshell and Beige.
Decorator Shade Cloths
This is a set of decorative translucent, materials.
Montreal:

Roller Shade Measuring
Forgive us for being Technical, but this is important!
Check out the Completed Projects page for examples of both mounting styles.
Accurately measuring your shades will ensure a custom fit for your selected window treatment. Follow the guidelines when measuring for your window shades. Use a metal tape measure. Include measurements and selected mounting method with your shade order. All measurements have to be accurate to within 1/16th of an inch. All measurements are in inches.
The easiest manner to measure for shades is, if you already have shades and are replacing them, is to use what you have. Measure and record the tip to tip. We will duplicate this and they will fit the same way your existing shades fit. Measure height from top of roller to desired hem.
Inside Bracket Mounting is used when the window is recessed allowing the shade to be hung inside the window casement. Outside Bracket Mounting is used when there is insufficient room to hang a shade, or if you prefer, by design, to hang the shade outside the window frame.
For Inside Bracket Mount:
Measure the exact distance between the points where the brackets are to be placed inside the window casement. Round measurement down to the nearest 1/16 inch. Specify (IB) with your order. We will allow for Bracket Clearance.
For Outside Bracket Mount:
brackets be placed to allow for 1 ½” to 2″ overlap on each side of the casement. Specify “Outside Bracket Mounting” (OB) with your order.
Doors
Doors are usually outside mounted, but you can give us the dimensions two ways; You can either give us the regular outside mount dimensions as specified previously, or you can give us the dimensions of the window pane and we will make the shade so that the cloth is at least that large.
Measuring Shade Length:
Measure the full height of your window opening from the top of the opening to the sill. We will add 10 inches. This 10″ is the margin required to permit the shade to be drawn to its full length without being torn from the roller.
Mounting:
Brackets, instructions are packed with shades. Screws are for your discretion as to the surface your are mounting into.

Roller Shade Trim Options
Reverse roll shade: (No additional charge) The shade material “waterfalls” off the front of the roller, rather than from underneath as with “regular roll”. Assembly and installation brackets are different than for regular-roll.
Types of trimming:
Gimp: The gimp is used mainly on the stitching, however it can be used on the edges of the scallop for a tailored, smooth design look. Choose one style.
French Gimp
Scroll Gimp
Fringe: The fringe is used on the bottom of the scallop, shade front and back. Choose one style.

Laminations
Fabric Laminated Roller Shades
Laminating is a hand process of applying the Customers Own Material to our room darkening fiber shade cloth. Unless otherwise specified, all fabrics will be laminates to a white fiberglass backing. This is a very beautiful, very durable way of having a shade fit your décor.
Multi purpose tightly woven cloth is recommended. If questionable material is being considered please send a swatch first for testing.
For shades wider than fabric, it is necessary to supply adequate yardage for pattern matching when splicing. Fabric supplied should be at least two (2) inches wider and twenty four (24) inches longer that your window. Splices or seams show, we exercise every care in laminating your fabric, but cannot be responsible for damage to customers fabric.
Fabrics which have either vertical or horizontal patterns will be laminated as straight as possible, but may not be entirely straight in the finished shade.
Reverse roll is not recommended for laminated shades, although it will be the customers responsibility if ordered. Indicate pattern direction, (which end goes to the top of the shade) and which side of the fabric goes into the room.
